Adult Eating Disorder Treatment Program

An innovative eating disorder treatment philosophy, dynamic professionals, and a serene environment work synergistically to maximize recovery from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.

Mirasol's residential eating disorder treatment program for women in Tucson, Arizona, is housed in a large six-bedroom hacienda-style estate with four bathrooms, a great room, dining room, recreation room and swimming pool. Beamed ceilings, burnt adobe fireplaces, saltillo tile floors, and a center courtyard fountain patio create a picturesque and secluded environment for healing. Spectacular mountain vistas provide a dramatic setting for meditation and reflection.

Offices and restored treatment cottages that once served as horse stables are located within 75 feet of the main house. No more than 10 women are in residence at Mirasol at any given time. The women all have semi-private rooms. All linens as well as washer and dryer are provided.

This intensive program is custom designed for people struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder and obesity. We are prepared to treat women with dual diagnoses as well.

The biochemical relationship between the body, nutrition, and mental health are assessed for each person. Treatment is not directed at symptoms per se, but at the underlying imbalance that produces them.

Mirasol's adult program offers twice as many weekly client therapy hours as other treatment programs. The weekends are structured with workshops covering a range of topics from assertiveness training to sexuality, spirituality and art therapy.
